A Holistic Approach

Our emphasis on holistic growth means that we apply a team approach to everything we do. When you visit Sunrise, you will notice how often our therapists, teachers, nursing staff, and residential mentors talk to each other. A variety of Sunrise employees will get to know your child and build a relationship with her. They will get to know what their treatment goals are, what they are working on in therapy or in school, who their friends are, what they like to do for fun, and how their relationship is going with their family. This allows us to support holistic growth, understanding their therapeutic needs from multiple perspectives.

In order to accomplish this holistic approach, your child’s treatment team is composed of a member of each department: Clinical, Residential, Academics, and Nursing. This allows the treatment team to have a 360 view of the student in each area of their treatment. Each month, the team reviews the outcomes scores, feedback, and interventions specific to your child comparing them to their Master Treatment Plan to ensure that the overall treatment goals for your family are being met. Parents, students, and outpatient therapists/consultants are considered members of the Treatment Team, and are welcome to attend via video call as recommended by the primary therapist.

Our departments do not operate in separate silos; our teachers and residential mentors know what is happening in therapy, our therapists and teachers know what is happening in the residential milieu, and our residential mentors and our therapists know what each student is working on academically. Staff from all departments function as a tight community and operate with a high level of trust.
